One Killed In Tractor-Trailer Crash On I-91

A 41-year-old man was the victim of a fatal single-vehicle crash after losing control of a tractor-trailer on I-91.

Ashley L. Bennett, of Uniondale on Long Island was killed around 4:43 a.m. Friday near Exit 14 in Wallingford, said the Connecticut State Police.

According to the police report, Bennett was traveling northbound on I-91 in the right lane when he swerved off the right shoulder and down the grassy embankment. The vehicle continued down the embankment and collided with a tree.

Bennett was found unresponsive on the scene and transported to Yale Hospital with serious injuries. He later died at the hospital.

State police are asking that anyone who may have witnessed the crash to call 203-393-4200.
